goodbye spring

spring is turning into summer, and this place is becoming a swamp once again. i'm taking advantage of the last few opportunities to wear pants outdoors semi comfortably. these stevie dazed jeans by elizabeth and james textile are one of my all time favorite pairs. i lucked out like crazy last spring when i found them on sale at bergdorf's for $75!!! mary kate and ash know how to make some jeans, big time.

got distracted while shopping for a bonsai tree in the middle of nowhere, and ended up doing a little trespassing. crop top and a/c in full effect today. if this is winter, i'm scared to see summer.

florida christmas

i guess i thought that somehow christmas eve would magically bring the cold, even though it didn't dip below 70 all week long..... nope. even these tights were unnecessary, but barelegged and sleeveless just seemed a little blasphemous. besides, i think they lend an elfish feel to the whole thing. merry christmas!

hot and cold

mother nature is being indecisive as hell when it comes to florida, per the usual. one day it's hot, the next it's cold, (and now i'm going to have that god forsaken katy perry song stuck in my head). anyway, i think homegirl's fickle attitude regarding the weather is beginning to translate into my choices of outfit. wool skirt with a crop top? yes, yes i think so.

eternal summer

as hard as i've been dreaming of autumn... of boots, of pants and LAYERING (!)... florida is eons away from making my dreams come true. a few nights ago, in a move that displayed my seasonal denial, i wore jeans out to dinner in ybor. the amount of sweating and lightheadedness that accompanied my wardrobe choice forced me to realize that i'd better not attempt any real leg coverage for at least another month. deep sigh. this is me resigning myself to the temperature while frolicking in the park at night!
