luna market!

there's a new web shop in town and i'm super stoked on it! luna market is the brainchild of my good friend, myla, who has been collecting and selling vintage since way back. she also has a super badass line of handcrafted jewelry, vestige by miss m, that she creates using vintage/natural/dead stock materials. when she told me that she had a website of her own in the works, i knew it was destined to be filled with a plethora of unique and bewitching pieces, and, naturally, i was right. she asked me to play mannequin for some of her vintage items, and, lucky for you, i restrained myself buying half of her merchandise before it even hit the invisible internet shelf. i did score this sickeningly lovely fringed sleeve crop top, though! go check out the rest at www.shoplunamarket.com!

after months of internet window drooling, the very fancy leg chain from the chains of love is mine to hang upon my limbs! i have a loose plan to wear this thing underneath/on top of every article of clothing in the world. i'm even more enamored of it than i thought possible, because it goes perfectly with everything, i mean evvverything i've attempted to combine it with.. ratty daisy dukes and tennis shoes, sweet little hi-lo dresses, a leather miniskirt. i'm telling you, this leg chains is the most versatile accessory in the world, maybe the universe. now all i need is the rib cage ring!

hello, long lost friends. i've missed you! my poor, sweet boyfriend, who is the official photographer of all of my style endeavors, has been suffering from a bad case of vertigo. needless to say, he's been in no shape to operate a camera, or even walk straight, for that matter. i've been playing nurse, so i haven't had much of an occasion to dress up, anyway. i did do a bit of thrifting while josh was laying around recovering, though, and i have lots of new treasures to show you in the near future. below are a couple of my aforementioned finds...

chromatic

could this dress be thrift gem of the week/month/season?!?! i think so. i do, i do, i do. i just... get ecstatic every time i look at it. it reminds me of zebra stripe gum and carnivals... and of la boca in buenos aires, all at the same time. as i was checking out at the thrift store, the cashier commented that the dress might be slightly large on "a little thing" like me, and then she suggested that i could "just belt it" in order for it to fit more perfectly. what, lady?? you want me to belt it and destroy the perfectly boxy shape that this thing has going for it? i don't want to look like an hourglass, i want to look like a magnificently colored little box. suggestion rejected. in other news: this bag. i thrifted it a few weeks ago and have been waiting for the right time to break it out. the fabric is obviously right up my alley, but what really makes it shine is it's super awkward shape. what the heck is that weird little protruding corner doing? i love it so much.

sweet spring

it's felt like spring for months here in florida, but ever since the spring equinox has made things official, i've been having cravings for tiny floral prints, super sheer fabric and romantic vintage dresses like crazy! when i saw this super sweet, dreamy little thing on the cosmic collage vintage, i felt instantly attached and had to get it. the owner of the shop, alice, is someone that i've had the chance to chat with, and we've done a little bonding over our shared vintage obsession. she's a complete doll who has curated a super darling collection of vintage, bohemian treasures within her store. go take a gander here!

shut eye

if you read my blog, you probably know about my penchant for wearing old nightgowns as evening gowns. well, i also have a massive collection of vintage nighties that i've deemed appropriate for slumbering and lounging around the house in. sleep is much more dreamy when you're wearing something beautiful and billowy to make a nice little cocoon around you. this nightie is a little more special than most of my others, since it was a hand me down from my granny. makes for sweet dreams.
