can't touch this

this shirt is one of my old favorites. i like it so much that i continue to wear it despite the fact that at least one person will randomly start poking me to prove that they can, indeed, touch this....every single time.

rushin

this is what happens when you pick out your outfit mid last minute bachlorette weekend packing frenzy. i rather like it.. sort of business in the back, party in the front. it's the reverse mullet of outfits, if you will.

hello, summer!

technicalities aside, it's now summer in florida. in my last post i was still coming to terms with the fact that wearing pants is about to become almost unbearable, but now i'm ready to let go and move on. by move on, i mean find ways to wear as little clothing as possible, but still be allowed in public. enter the terry cloth romper. wearing one feels like being wrapped in a tiny, super light weight towel, which is the exact feel i'm going for. the other perks of this type of getup include the 'retired in florida and on the way to my bridge tournament' feel, and its sweat absorbing capabilities. let the tropical heat wave begin.

goodbye spring

spring is turning into summer, and this place is becoming a swamp once again. i'm taking advantage of the last few opportunities to wear pants outdoors semi comfortably. these stevie dazed jeans by elizabeth and james textile are one of my all time favorite pairs. i lucked out like crazy last spring when i found them on sale at bergdorf's for $75!!! mary kate and ash know how to make some jeans, big time.

back in blonde

in case you were wondering, and because the recent purchase of this dress has given me reason to broach the subject: yes, my love of peplum is very far reaching and it does include those of the dropped variety. now that we're all clear there, i should tell you that i decided to return to the light, and back to my blonde roots. beach season is in full swing for me, and as my skin got more tan, it started to resemble my hair color. that turned out to be a bad thing, so i went back to where i always feel the most at home.. blonde city, usa. never leaving again.

las flores

jesus louiseus. josh and i moved into a new place this past week, and all the box hauling and unpacking kept me so busy that i just got around to actually plugging a computer in. the labors of our relocation haven't been in vain, though. among other swanky mcswank upgrades, the new apartment comes with a much larger closet than i had at my previous home. in celebration, i allowed myself to really go wild at the thrift store today. last night was a little bit of a celebration too, for cinco de mayo, and i decided to wear flowers on flowers for the occasion because.... mexico.... flowers. who knows.
